Getting you ready for the tough decisions ahead

Something fell on Chicken Little’s head. But it wasn’t the sky. Has your organization taken a recent blow?  Ticket sales slow?  Donations down?  Board and staff in a panic?  Layoffs happening – or on the horizon? From the Chronicle of Philanthropy, June 29, 2009: In recession, arts groups are hardest hit among nonprofits – concern about survival rose significantly at theaters and orchestras, which were the hardest hit of all charities in the study.

Facing the Music is a one-day seminar for your board and/or staff to prepare your organization’s leaders for major decisions and necessary actions in a current or impending crisis.  Get a handle on what’s ahead – acorns, hail or pennies from heaven. Participants will…

• Identify the dangers and warning signs of a crisis.
• Explore paths to solutions.
• Learn what questions a board should ask.
• Define “success” in “the new reality”.
• Discover resources – What (and who) are they? Where are they?
• Make a Map to Action (Preparatory steps to take in the next 60-90 days).
• Determine specific assignments/responsibilities for your leadership team – present or not.
• Learn the Top Twenty Actions recommended by the experts.
